Pinterest’s Watermelon Margarita Recipes, #Ranked
My two friends and I wanted to make healthy watermelon margaritas to celebrate sweet summertime. But there are so. many. recipes. out. there. Which one is the best?
Well, we decided to do some homework, make the most popular recipes on Pinterest, and decide for ourselves which we liked the best. It was a grueling night, trust me. Here are the recipes we tried:

I will start out by saying that they were all good, simple recipes with less than five ingredients. We used a mix of silver and gold tequila unless the recipe called for a specific type.
- 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) fresh lime juice (juice of about 2 large limes)
- 3 ounces Silver Tequila
- 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) fresh orange juice (juice of 1 large orange)
- 4 ounces (8 tablespoons) fresh watermelon juice (juice of about 1/4 of a small watermelon, approximately)
- 4-8 drops Trader Joe’s Organic Liquid Stevia (if you don’t have liquid stevia, you can use a simple syrup with your sweetener of choice; see notes below)
What we did differently: We did not filter out the watermelon pulp, we simply blended it and added the rest of the ingredients.
Kelsey: “The orange juice really comes out!” “That is SO good.” “I like how pulpy it is.”
Carly: “Tastes fresh and healthy.”
Kristie: “Could definitely throw back a couple of these!”
- 3/4 cup frozen watermelon
- 1.5 oz tequila
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp lime zest
- 1 packet stevia
- 2 oz. seltzer
What we did differently: We used pomegranate seltzer water instead of the recommended lime, however, we couldn’t taste the seltzer anyway.
Kelsey: “I’m neutral on this one. It definitely tastes a little more like a margarita you’d get at a restaurant, but it’s a little heavier to me.”
Carly: “I like this one better. I didn’t love the orangey taste of the first one.”
Kristie: “Tastes like I should be on the beach, on spring break! Tastes more watermelon than the other. I like this one better than the other.”
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 lime wedge
- 3½ cups cubed seeded watermelon $
- ½ cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
- Lime wedges or watermelon balls (optional)
What we did differently: Nothing, we followed this to a T.
Kelsey- “My least favorite. It’s still good, but a little sweet for my taste.”
Carly – “Fresh! This one seems more watermelon-y than the others. It brings out the taste of the fruit a bit more than the others.”
Kristie- “This one is a little too sweet for me.”
